A: Most accounts that are high risk have a reserve.
Q: How much does it cost to sign up for Payscout?
A: There is no sign-up-fee.
Q: Do you notify me if there is a chargeback?
A: Yes, it is done electronically.
Q: Can I dispute chargeback?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: Can I check my sales statistic at any time?
A: Yes, you can check your sales statistics any time by logging into our system specifically designed for that.
Q: Will I need to purchase and/or install any special software or hardware to use Payscout?
A: No, you will not.
Q: What is a chargeback?
A: A chargeback is a forced refund from a customer’s credit card company. A cardholder decides to formally dispute a charge on his/her credit card bill, often as a result of fraud. Chargeback is considered a part of this business nature and it is usually hard to avoid. To reduce the amount of chargebacks, please collect as much information as possible from a cardholder. A merchant is liable for penalty fees associated with chargebacks.
Q: Do you accept merchants outside of the United States?
A: Yes, Payscout accepts merchants globally.
Q: Will international merchants need to incorporate and open bank accounts in the United States?
A: No, international merchants don’t need to incorporate or open bank accounts in the United States, however they will need to do that in the country in which their processing relationship resides.

A: Yes, all payment gateways must be PCI compliant.

Q: Which integration method should I use?
A: All merchants must implement the Payscout API for gateway integration.
Q: What transaction data formats does Payscout accept?
A: Payscout accepts following data formats: XLS, TXT, RTF, CSU.
Q: What programming languages can I use to integrate to Payscout?
A: In order to integrate to Payscout merchants should be able to use HTML, PHP, XML, JAVA.
Q: Does Payscout provide any code samples?
A: Yes, code samples are provided in API documentation and in the Payment Gateway Interface.
Q: Does Payscout assist in international transactions?
A: Yes. Merchants can submit transactions to the payment gateway on behalf of foreign customers. In order to do so, the merchant needs to have a bank account in the United States, and must be able to accept the customer’s card type: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB. The payment gateway will submit the amount to the customer’s card issuer, who will then handle all currency conversion to U.S. dollars.
Q: Do I need to submit transaction fields in a specific order?
A: No.
Q: Is there a document that lists transaction response codes or error messages and their possible causes?
A: Yes, document can be found in the support library of Payscout Payment Gateway.
Q: How can I customize Payscout hosted payment form?
A: Payment form is dynamically generated to support all customizations.
Q: How are transactions batched?
A: Transactions are automatically batched daily or can be customized for multiple daily batches by merchant.
Q: What tools are available for controlling fraudulent transactions?
A: Available tools consists of fraud scrubbing (iSPyFraud), AVS, CVV2, velocity checks, duplicate checks, etc.
Q: What is AVS?
A: AVS is Address Verification Service, which allows merchants to match up the billing address provided by a customer during the transaction with the billing address on file at the customer’s issuing bank.
Q: What is CCV?
A: CCV is Card Code Verification, which is 3-digit security code located on the top of the signature panel on the back of the credit card (it’s 4-digit and on the front of American Express only). CCV is submitted to the payment gateway in order to improve the security of transactions.
