A Partnership in Action: How Our Corporate Volunteering Programs Create Community Impact
At Payscout, our core belief is that every individual has a social responsibility to make the world a better place. We put this belief into action through our partnership with the Jefferson Awards Foundation (JAF). Indeed, JAF is the nation’s most prestigious organization for celebrating public service.
Our collaboration is about more than just sponsorship; in fact, it’s about active participation. Through our corporate volunteering programs, we empower our team to create a tangible and positive impact. Here are a few examples of our partnership in action.
Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders
A major focus of our partnership is supporting JAF’s Students in Action (SIA) program. Specifically, this program nurtures leadership skills in young people. Our team has been deeply involved in several ways:
Mentorship and Training: We participate in SIA training events and volunteer directly with students. For instance, our work with Van Nuys Middle School helped them earn a gold-level banner.
Civic Engagement: We also provide students with unique educational opportunities. This includes attending an L.A. City Council meeting where they were honored for their service.
Celebrating Success: Finally, we celebrate hard work with SIA students and their families. We joined them at an L.A. Sparks game, thanks to a generous ticket donation from the team.
Innovating for Social Good
As a payments innovation company, we believe in using technology to drive positive change. This mindset has led to some of our most unique contributions:
The First VR Donation: We were proud to generate the world’s first donation made in virtual reality directly to the Jefferson Awards Foundation.
Creative Giving: In addition, we activated the Lead 360 project. Through this, we donated over 200 Emma’s Art Kits to young patients at two major hospitals.
Celebrating Our Employee Champions
Our commitment to service starts with our team. We believe in recognizing employees who go above and beyond to give back.
As part of this commitment, Payscout nominated our own Erica Boatman-Dixon as an employee volunteer of the year. This gave her a special opportunity to travel to the JAF National Ceremony in Washington D.C. There, she connected with other volunteers and met with congressional representatives.
Ultimately, our partnership with the Jefferson Awards Foundation is a living example of our core beliefs. These efforts continue to inspire us. Moreover, we remain dedicated to finding new ways to support the communities we serve.
